I took the kids to the park today because I promised Mason if he did his "paperwork", aka homework, for school that I would take him and Reagan to play. Since starting school, we have been working really hard with Mason on learning to complete homework in order to prepare him for kindergarten next year. We have a long way to go. He has gotten really good at writing his name, but doesn't want to really do anything else. Not even color. It really makes it hard on me to get him motivated to even try. I hate to even think about what school will be like next year. He really loves going to preschool and Early Childhood Special Education. He looks forward to going every single day. We have stopped speech therapy in Columbia to allow him more therapy time at school. So far, he has adjusted well to the change, but still asks about going to see Chesney. :( We really love her and miss her a lot. I told Mason we need to make her a card and send it to her to let her know we are still thinking of her.
Reagan is talking so much more. She is putting together sentences. Her first complete sentence was a couple of weeks ago, when Christy, Shelley and I were going shopping and we had Reagan with us. She was "talking" on my BlackBerry to Papa Wayne and she said, "Papa, I love you!" Plain as day. She is really a smart kid! She can already count to 9! Last night Kevin was working on counting pennies with her up to 20. She wants to do homework when Mason is doing his, so we make her copies of his homework so she can do it too! :)
Kevin recently bought a new 2010 Cheverolt Silvarado Diesel pick up truck, which is his DREAM truck. It is all black with black interior. My favorite feature of it is the backup camera so you can see what is behind you when you are backing up....that would have been helpful to me last week when I backed our 2001 Chevy into Kevin's trailer! It is now at the body shop getting fixed. Kevin has been busy selling seed for next year and wrapping up year end things. He has also harvested all of his corn crops. He was disappointed that they didn't make as much as he thought, but all in all, it was a good harvest. The bean crops are just now ready to harvest so he will be doing that in the coming weekends ahead.
I have been trying to balance being a mom, wife, and employee. It is so hard to do at times because I feel like I am running in all different directions and can't devote all the time that I need to do to all the activities. I really want to get some sewing done, but I haven't been able to do that since last November.
Hopefully in the coming weeks, I can get some Christmas gifts made. Speaking of Christmas...yes, I have my shopping started! Thanks to Brennan, Mason wants a guitar from Santa and some drums. :) I look forward to Black Friday shopping again this year with April. It always puts me in such a good mood!
